When we confirm pregnancy (or discover we have become pregnant) or when we decide to become open to conception….it is a journey and process of transformation that offers literally almost endless possibilities.

For decades I have used and offered this process to; myself, my friends, and the hundreds of people & families who have asked me to be a support and guide.

Evaluate your “head” knowing, what acquired knowledge do we hold that may provide insight? Consider what your heart, your emotions, are telling you about what’s happening.

Use your gut/intuitive wisdom to align the head and the heart into a satisfying plan of growth and resolution. Head--Heart--Passion. Check EACH one and then work to ALIGN them, this brings harmony within your body.

We should also consider that everything is connected. So WHAT we think affects our physical state. WHO we spend our time with, affects what we choose to do.

HOW we take of and nurture ourselves, affects the environment we provide to our tiny humans housed in our womb/uterus.

MOVEMENT

When I studied nutrition in college it became clear to me that given the choice of poor nutrition and good daily body movement vs. great nutrition and a sedentary lifestyle, the benefits of daily movement could compensate for poor nutritional resources.

Practice #1-- DAILY movement for 30 minutes. Break this down to (3) 10 minute segments to begin with if necessary.

MINDSET

The more research we gather, the more we understand the POWER of our thoughtlife!! Every thought elicits a neuro chemical reaction from your brain to the rest of your body. The most basic information around this is understood through the placebo effect. If we BELIEVE a sugar pill is a medication that will heal us, then we can be healed by that. There is also the nocebo effect- if we believe something can harm us, then our body can create that response also.

During pregnancy we are open in physiological ways that allow for change with less resistance. Use the opportunity of pregnancy to re-think your beliefs about your self, your life, and your power to create a life that is deeply satisfying and joyful.

NUTRITION

OF COURSE it matters what we nurture and nourish our bodies with! But….if we have a pristine clean, organic locally grown diet and we grumble and hate each bite of that bounty, then our body will not receive the nutritional potential of that food! Conversely, if we enjoy and are satisfied by less than ideal food choices (or the only food we have available to us), then our bodies will receive the nutrition that is present.
